History of Whitmore Printing

WHITMORE PRINTING - MASTER PRINTERS FOR GENERATIONS

Ink must run deep through the Whitmore family veins - they've been involved in the printing industry for four generations in Lancaster County in Pennsylvania.

Eric Whitmore now runs the family business, but his father, Scoop, enjoyed a long run as the printer/publisher of the New Holland Clarion, which was established in 1873 and published by the Whitmore family until 1984.

After World War II, the family redefined the business and separated it into two distinct enterprises - the weekly newspaper and the commercial printing division. Eric Whitmore then branched out in 2000 and created the now separate entity of Whitmore Printing.

Technology has changed a great deal in 130 years, and the Whitmores have definitely kept up. While Whitmore Printing utilizes state-of the art-digital technology for the majority of our printing projects, we're equally proud of the Heidelberg press we use on many of our non-digital projects. Why? Because we purchased this piece of equipment in 1949, and see it as a testament to our longevity and commitment to quality -- two of the hallmark traits that set Whitmore Printing apart from the competition.

ALL IN THE FAMILY

Today, Eric Whitmore is at the helm. His son Michael is the Digital Manager, Michael's son Logan still a bit young (age 6) but he's next in line.

Following a massive upgrade in 2001 and 2002, Whitmore Printing now proudly offers our customers the most up-to-date Heidelberg sheet-fed equipment available for their printing needs today. From our digital capabilities that include Digital Workflow and Direct-to-Plate technologies, Whitmore Printing is poised to continue its family tradition of producing aesthetically pleasing quality products for its customers for generations to come.
