History
of Whitmore Printing
Whitmore Printing has been printing in Lancaster County for more
than 130 years! A printing business since 1873, Whitmore's published
the New Holland Clarion continuously from 1873-1984. After World
War II, a decision was made that redefined the family business into
two, distinct areas; the weekly newspaper; and a commercial printing
division. In 1949, our first Heidelberg press was purchased and
put into operation - we're proud to say that that incredible machine
is still printing jobs for us today!
Today,
Eric, the fourth generation of Whitmores in the printing industry,
is at the helm of Whitmore Printing (with his son Michael, a pressman,
and at the moment, we're unsure about his son, Logan). Following
a massive upgrade in 2001 and 2002, we are proud to serve our customers
with the most up-to-date Heidelberg sheetfed equipment available.
Our
clients receive printed pieces created on the finest printing equipment
available from print facilities in the central Pennsylvania area.
